As part of the 175th Anniversary Celebrations of HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A., a series of events were organized with the participation of our employees:

“Steelworkers’ Family Picnic” on April 22 – A day full of fun for the children of Huta Łabędy employees and its subsidiaries, featuring games, activities, inflatable attractions, football tournaments, refreshments, and more.

Holy Mass for the Steelworkers’ Family – On May 7, a solemn Mass was held at St. George’s Church in Gliwice-Łabędy, dedicated to the living and deceased employees and retirees of Huta Łabędy and their families, with prayers for the intercession of St. Florian. This Mass inaugurated the official 175th anniversary celebrations, combined with Steelworkers’ Day.
May 9 – Steelworkers’ Day and the 175th Anniversary Celebrations
The day was filled with significant events:

6:00 AM – The steelworkers’ orchestra marched through the streets of the Łabędy district, warmly welcomed by local residents.

9:00 AM – A ceremonial wreath-laying at the monument of St. Florian, the patron saint of steelworkers, took place on the premises of HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A. The event was attended by employees, subsidiaries, the Management Board of HUTA, presidents of ZEM and EkoProHut, and representatives of social organizations. The ceremony featured honor guards and the steelworkers’ orchestra.

Visit to the historic grave – After the wreath-laying, the Management Board, company presidents, and representatives of social organizations visited the parish cemetery of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where they honored the graves of 10 steelworkers who lost their lives at work on August 29, 1879, at the site of what is now HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A.

May 8, 2023 – Annual Steelworkers’ Academy
Following the long May weekend, the traditional Steelworkers’ Academy took place in a ceremonial setting.- Employees celebrating 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of service at HUTA and its subsidiaries were honored.
- Employees received the “Distinguished Employee of HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A.” award.
- The ceremony was enriched by a performance by preschool children from Municipal Kindergarten No. 37 in Gliwice.
May 26, 2023 – Official 175th Anniversary Ceremony
The grand celebration, combined with the traditional Steelworkers’ Tavern, was attended by numerous distinguished guests, including:
- Representatives of the President of Poland, the government, the Senate, the European Parliament, and local authorities.
- WĘGLOKOKS S.A. executives.
- Members of the Supervisory Board of Huta Łabędy.
- Presidents and management board members of subsidiaries and companies within the WĘGLOKOKS Capital Group, business partners, financial institution representatives, and companies collaborating with Huta Łabędy.
- Representatives of universities, chambers, and institutes, as well as Police and State Fire Service Commanders and media representatives.
During the event:
- Minister Piotr Ćwik and Silesian Voivode Jarosław Wieczorek presented state decorations awarded by President Andrzej Duda to HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A. employees.
- Silesian Voivode Jarosław Wieczorek read a commemorative letter from Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
After the official part, the celebration continued with performances by:

Children’s Day Gifts from Our Guests
Gifts received from our distinguished guests during the 175th Anniversary Celebration were donated to children on Children’s Day at the following institutions:
- Municipal Kindergarten No. 37 in Gliwice
- Care and Educational Center for Children of the Congregation of the Servant Sisters of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Gliwice
- Independent Public Clinical Hospital in Zabrze
- Special Primary School in Pyskowice
- Gliwice Educational and Rehabilitation Center in Gliwice
