Nearly 200 exhibitors from Poland and abroad appeared at this year’s “Katowice 2017” International Fair of Mining, Power Industry and Metallurgy, which began on August 29, 2017. One of the main exhibitors is HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A. from the WĘGLOKOKS Capital Group.
“We present a part of our production at the fair. First of all, we show our flagship products – ŁPS and ŁPOCW roof supports. We also exhibit two new models of pipes with a collar, which will soon be in our offer for mining,” says Zenon Górniak, President of the Management Board of HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A.
The opening ceremony of this largest mining event in Europe was attended by Prime Minister Beata Szydło and Deputy Minister of Energy Grzegorz Tobiszowski.
“The future of Polish mining is the future of the Polish economy. We want to build the Polish power industry and the Polish economy based on a safe energy mix, in which hard coal and lignite will play a very important role,” said the head of the government during the opening ceremony.
The Deputy Minister of Energy reminded the audience that Polish mining faced an abyss in 2015, but then its situation changed dramatically.
“I think that this year, not only in terms of results, but also investment plans, will show that mining has risen from the knees and begins to occupy the right place in the industrial structure of Poland,” said Grzegorz Tobiszowski.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Energy, met with the management boards of WĘGLOKOKS S.A. and HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A. at the mill’s stand. She got acquainted with the current situation regarding the companies from the Węglokoks Capital Group as well as the products presented at the stand.
Traditionally, on the first day of the fair, the Mining Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the European Association for Coal and Lignite (EURACOAL) organized a debate devoted to the role and future of coal in the period of energy transformation.
The International Fair of Mining, Power Industry and Metallurgy organized by Polska Technika Górnicza takes place every two years. Huta Łabędy from the Węglokoks Capital Group has participated in it since 1995. This year’s company exposition, located on the square in front of Katowice’s Spodek, occupies over 310 sq m. In total, about 30,000 sq m were made available to all exhibitors. The fair lasts until September 1, 2017.
