At the end of October 5,000 tons of magnetite arrived to the premises of HUTA ŁABĘDY from Sweden under terms of the import contract. It is the first commercial and logistic venture of that type but certainly not the last one.
The entire project is coordinated jointly by Węglokoks S.A. that is involved in sales of magnetite in Poland and Huta Łabędy that is the owner of the storage area. Responsibility for organization of transloading from railway cars onto trucks rested on ZEM Łabędy – the subsidiary company of HUTA ŁABĘDY
There was one more company involved in the entire logistic process, i.e. Eko-Pro-Hut Co. Ltd. (EPH) that is also a member of the Capital Group of Huta Łabędy and was appointed to unload the goods as quickly as possible onto the storage area already prepared by joint forces of ZEM and EPH. This task was carried out with use of loading machines owned by the company and furnished with dedicated equipment purposefully purchased for that task. It was a really demanding challenge since it required continuous and uninterrupted unloading operation and personnel from the both companies had to work nonstop for several dozens of hours.
That outstanding project was carried out with participation of many companies incorporated into the Capital Group of Huta Łabędy, which unambiguously indicates that the effect of synergy really came true within the Capital Group, which was confirmed by efficient collaboration between the mentioned entities.
