On July this year representatives of HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A. managing board participated in two business events of international importance with the aim to investigate opportunities of export to some foreign countries, chiefly from Europe and South America.
These events included the Polish-Chilean Investment Seminar in Warsaw that was held on 17th July 2014 at the premises of National Stadium in Warsaw. On behalf of HUTA ŁABĘDY the meeting was attended by Mr. Zenon Górniak, the President of Managing Board together with his Deputy on Marketing and Finance, Mr. Bogusław Lewandowski who were also members of the Business Mission to Chile undertaken to get familiar with expectations of the Chilean market with regard to mining equipment such as roadway roof support system manufactured by Huta Łabędy.
The -Chilean Investment Seminar in Warsaw was arranged by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. with participation of ProChile, which is an organization governed by Foreign Office of Chile and established to support export of Chilean goods and services and to encourage investments and tourism to Chile. The honour patronage for the seminar was provided the Ambassador of the Republic of Chile in Poland, the Ministry of Treasury and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland.
The key topics of the Polish-Chilean Investment Seminar covered dynamic growth of international trade between Poland and Chile over the recent years and opportunities for further advance in mutual commercial relationships.
One of the most notable events of the seminar was the speech of Mr. Herbert Wirth, CEO and Managing Board President of KGHM, who outlined Sierra Gorda that is currently the largest Polish venture in Chile and also one of the most sizeable copper projects worldwide.
Other lectures dedicated to challenges in growth of investments and commercial trade between Poland and Chile were developed by Mr. Alfredo García Castelblanco, the Ambassador of Chile in Poland and Ms. Aleksandra Piątkowska, the Polish Ambassador in Chile.
The seminar was also an excellent opportunity to encourage entrepreneurs to establish mutual business relationships.
Some later, on 22nd July this year the annual Council of Polish Ambassadors was held at the premises of the National School of Public Administration. The meeting was attended by heads of more than 100 embassies that represent Poland on all continents and are accredited to various international organizations. The convention addressed such important topics as promotion of Polish enterprises worldwide, policy of defense and energy safety. The event was also an opportunity to face-to-face meetings, including discussion between representatives of HUTA ŁABĘDY Managing Board and heads of Polish diplomatic deputations.
During the event HUTA ŁABĘDY was represented by Mr. Wojciech Siudyła, the Deputy President for Restructuring and Proprietary Supervision as well as Mr. Andrzej Kęcki, Deputy President for Production and Trade.
The delegation of the Company’s Managing Board held meetings with Ambassadors of Poland in Chile, Columbia, Mexico, Argentina, Ukraine and Turkey. The debates covered issues of opportunities for future business of HUTA ŁABĘDY in these countries and possible support that can be provided by diplomatic institutes to achieve these objectives.
