The latest edition of ‘Rzeczpospolita” daily, for the 11th time in row, discloses the list of 500 largest Polish companies ordered according to their market price.

The list includes two entities that are members of the ‘Węglokoks’ Capital Group, namely Węglokoks S.A. and Huta Łabędy S.A.

With regard to the previous year, Węglokoks was promoted by 35 positions in the ranking and achieved the 92nd place of the list. In turn, the steelworks was noted at the place 380 among 500 of the largest Polish enterprises.

Calculations of the ‘Rzeczpospolita’ daily indicate that the total price of all companies that are included into the ‘Top 500’ list has grown by 14 percents and exceeded PLN 1 trillion.

Mr. Cezary Adamczyk, a journalist from ‘Rzeczpospolita’ daily comments: ‘Pricing of companies has improved due to positive trends at the stock exchange and slow but steady progress in financial standing of companies. The estimations of economists indicate that the Polish economy shall swell until the end of 2014 with the growth rate above 3% at the end of that period. Advances can be seen in trade of Consumer Package Goods and capital investments increase as well. Should the trends are maintained even further price growth for companies from the ‘Top 500’ list can be expected.

The market price of companies was calculated on the basis of three figures: sales, the book value and EBITDA – Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization.
