Skip to content The beginnings of Huta Łabędy date back to August 1848. At that time, “Hermina” steelworks was established in the current district of Gliwice. It was the first place of its kind in Silesia to have electric lighting installed. It was also here, in October 1949, that the first post-war smelting was performed in the open-hearth plant.
Today, Huta Łabędy S.A. manufactures products for the mining, construction and steel structure industries, inter alia. A laboratory and four departments operate at Huta Łabędy: Rolling Mill Department, Mining Products Department, Tube Department and Shaped Sections Department. This enables the performance of a wide range of activities and comprehensive service for customers from many industries. The steelworks holds all the necessary certificates for the manufactured products.
In addition to activities directly related to the metallurgical industry, HUTA ŁABĘDY willingly cooperates with other entities and participates in social initiatives.
In June 2023, an agreement was concluded at the Automotive School Complex in Gliwice by and between the city of Gliwice, HUTA ŁABĘDY S.A. and the Automobile School Complex regarding the creation of the Huta ŁABĘDY S.A. patronage class within the framework of the 1st level Industrial School preparing for the profession of mechanic – machine and equipment fitter.
